Barry here was found wandering around a local market, until one of our supporters tracked him back to his hidey hole and called the ARC staff to come and collect him. As you can see, he was living next to a lockup and some mopeds, and has a nasty infection on his right ear.
When we got him back to ARC, the staff cleaned hundreds of maggots from his ear and patched him up. Barry is an old chap and can stay at ARC for the rest of his days. He’s certainly more than earned his way to a warm bed and a bowl of food.
Your sponsorship will contribute towards the cost of treating and feeding Barry and giving him a happy and peaceful life in his Autumn years.
UPDATE: Barry (who, it turns out, was not a male dog) passed peacefully in her sleep in September 2024. We do see this quite often, when an elderly dog is rescued from the street and treated for their pain, they are free to slip away peacefully and end their life in the best possible terms. Rest in peace Barry, we’re just glad that you could end your time with the best days of your life – free of pain, with bowls of food each day, and finally feeling the love of humans. Something every animal should have. Any money collected for Barry will go to treating more dogs, cats and other animals that come to ARC with the same care, to give them the best life.
